I wasn’t worried about hitting the door on the wall or the garage, my concern was that if the sensor stops the door before hitting it there is no way to get in and out of the back seat or to get a child strapped into the car seat.

I still think these rear doors are a mistake. I don’t think they will clear most garage doors when they are open. As a father with a child in a car seat i see this as a major crutch.

I feel that 3 blinks isn’t enough to signal your intention, check the blind spot one last time and move over. The 2015 Sonata has a setting where you can choose 3 or 5 blinks. I think 4 is the ideal number of blinks, but I am happy with one extra.
