Last October my wife bought a 2020 RAV4 XLE Premium and I have to say, it is not a bad place to spend some time.  It may not be the most interesting vehicle, but I can see why they are so popular.

I’ve done the exact same thing, on a Tacoma no less.  I had a loan pre-approved but they were able to beat the rate (through the same credit Union) by a couple tenths of a point.  I considered the interest savings a win and just let them keep any kickback from the lender. 

All good points with the next to last paragraph answering my question of “Why the hell don’t they just eat the last 30% to save themselves the bad press?” Even if they replace it with a 2021 Escape Titanium, they’d be looking at eating at most about 10 grand which is hopefully less than this whole mess will cost them…

I very much agree. With all the complaining people do about “not having enough passing”, they have to understand that every on-track pass involves some risk. There’s also the fact that it was during a race and the time required to do this would have made continuing the race pointless. They might as well save the wear on the power unit and transmission.

Unfortunately, titanium is waaaaay too corrosion resistant for Dave Tracy’s expertice to be of any help...
