I don’t think you understand just how much work goes into making spit-screen work in a game. you have to render a game twice which means cutting both the resolution and frame rate in half. this is the reason VR headsets need so much extra hardware.

those are more Dynasty Warriors than Gundam though since they were made by Omega Force rather than Bandai Namco. so they don’t really count. since Operation Troy flopped Bandai hasn’t made a single Gundam game on an Xbox platform.
there really aren’t alot of options in Versus. there are really only three modes to play and while there are alot of of playable units the previous game Gundam Extreme VS Maxi Boost had alot more playable units and alot more modes.
Plus, PS2 games look awful on modern televisions.
if you liked Robotech/Macross I think you might really like Gundam.

Sonic 06 ended up so bad because Sonic Creator Yuji Naka left Sega really early in the development of Sonic 06 and all of the younger people working at Sonic Team had no fucking idea what to do.
