of course not. when you get hit by an enemy you still get the stagger animation but it doesn’t knock you back and it doesn’t impede your ability to perform actions.
so you like not being able to play the game because it was designed poorly?
don’t put words in my mouth, you know what I mean. the lack of story and characterization in the early Metroid games lead lots of fans to inject their own personal head canon into the series giving them their own idealized version of Samus which was never really present in the games.
after Super Metroid she had killed Ridley for good. seeing him alive again in Other M triggered her PTSD again.
Samus is hired by the Federation, when she’s with them she’s a part of that chain of command.
if you’re gonna sit her and try and tell me Other M was a good game or in anyway the right step for the series. I don’t have much to say other than I beat it and hated it and it’s the antithesis of Metroid.
because they’re complaining about Adam limiting your abilities early in the game when you don’t actually need those abilities. not having certain abilities that you don’t need yet didn’t make you die.
Set your game in whatever fantasy-sci-fi world you want, but the physics need to make sense.
...It’s a problem with the story, which is what most everyone would say. Not sure what your point is here
Samus acts like a child Other M.
Fusion never said anything about Samus turning into a little girl when Adam was around.
there’s nothing realistic about metroid. stagger animations don’t have any place in video games as they prevent you from playing the actual game. stagger animations nearly prevented me from playing Dead Rising.
Every time I died because he arbitrarily didn’t let me use some ability i cursed him instead of feeling like I was fairly killed by a legitimately dangerous place.
exactly. most of them are adamant about how “only the stuff in the games is canon” even though the Metroid manga is officially canon. the manga came out the same year as Prime 1 and Fusion and alot of elements of Fusion’s story were taken right out of the manga.
so why can’t you just import a US copy?
I probably will.
that’s because Germany has different laws regarding videos games and the depiction of nazis.
stripping away weapons period is patently absurd, yet every single Metroid game does it.
well I haven’t bought anything yet.
