I felt the exact same way! I read somewhere that it would be Roanoke, then for a few weeks leading up to the show everyone was like “What’s it gonna be?!” and I thought I had misread something. Then I saw the premiere, and... yeah, it’s Roanoke. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“My Roanoke Nightmare” pops up as a title screen in like the first five minutes... it’s really not a spoiler.

Agreed. And much as I like how she’s spoken up about sexism in the past, whining about how another woman got something she didn’t “because she’s prettier” alters that image a bit for me. Even if Weiner admits that’s just her insecurity speaking, the thought is now out there, and I’m sure that doesn’t feel good to

She was really good in The Spectacular Now. And didn’t wear any makeup in it, which is just cool. I definitely don’t blame her for not wanting to beat a failing franchise to death.

Seeeeriously. I was so excited for Coven and it disappointed me so completely.

Ugh, summer camp would’ve been so great. I hope they’ve come up with something equally good.

I thought everyone in the hotel was in on it, though? Because they knew the cop/killer had a split personality. It seemed like they were all kind of enjoying keeping him in the dark and mocking him. And I remember Kathy Bates’ character saying how happy she was when he finally knew the truth, because she never knew

I think it’s pretty unanimous that Freak Show sucked all around, but people I’ve talked to are a lot more split on Hotel. So you might want to check out the first few episodes and see what you think. It’s not unmissable, IMO, but I liked it alright.

Well a lot of them are recurring characters because all the AHS seasons are happening in the same universe (so characters from past seasons occasionally pop up). But I know what you mean, and I do think AHS deals in gendered violence too often. I thought Asylum was well done but I’ll never watch it again - it was

Actually, I’m gonna do my ranking of the seasons, because I seem to be one of the only commenters here who watched them all, all the way through? Not that I’m bragging about that...

I think Asylum had the best storytelling and is the scariest season, then Murder House. I absolutely hated Coven, though. Once reincarnation came into the mix, the whole story went to shit. Though it had some good moments.

To be fair, it’s the same doctor character who does both of those surgeries. And he ends up burning himself alive, so... it’s not like anyone is let off easy in the AHS universe.

I don’t know, but I have a friend who broke up with his girlfriend FOUR times, and has now been happily married to her for eight years. Who can understand the mysteries of love...

There are some really big things that happen in the last couple seasons, so you probably want to read a recap.

Richard :( Richard appreciation...

Yeah, I don’t know. I just honestly can’t think of a way to get them engaged/married without having to awkwardly shoehorn it into the plot. It seems like they’d either be married already or choosing not to do it at all.

I’ve been wondering about this, too... but like, doesn’t it seem weird that eight years or whatever have passed and they’re not married by now? Because they got back together at the end of the last season, so what’ve they been doing all these years? Which makes me wonder if they might not get married at all.

Yeah, Jordan has been the clear winner for ages, and no amount of crying from Jojo (because, damn, she cries a lot) will convince anyone otherwise.

There’s not really anything fair about reality TV. It’s all speculation because you don’t ever know if you’re seeing the whole story. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The majority of viewers found Caila fake and shallow; that’s why she wasn’t picked.
