Sure, it makes sense.
Sure, it makes sense.
The early C3's with the thin chrome bumper will always be my favorite Vettes. They were an iconic, beautiful design that didn’t look like anything else at the time:
I don’t even care anymore. Mid-engine n/a V8 in the back and not 6 figures was the wishlist, and Santa delivered.
The first similar car that comes to mind that had the same completeness to its all-new-ness was when the R35 GT-R came out over a decade ago. That was a monster killer at the time with its crazy low starting price (that didn’t last long) that was already higher than the C8 will be over a decade later!
A paltry 5.4L
A fuck of a ton of car for the price.
Honestly I only got excited when I heard the price.
It’s not as exciting as the Ford GT outright, no. It’s also a small fraction of the price so you wouldn’t expect it to be.
It’s because the Corvette is attainable. The Ford GT may as well be CGI because most people will never see one in real life, much less afford one.
While I agree with your points, I believe the hype is $60,000 mid engine Corvette.
Oh thank God another one, I was going into Corvette withdrawal. Is the configurator back up?
Well, doesn’t that look pretty damn good.
You can buy decent house for $75k?! holy shit!
And just like *that* I went from complete indifference about this Corvette to actually rooting for it and looking at my finances to see if I could afford one on my modest salary. I can’t. Yet.
we need elderly retesting, but we also need retesting for everyone. Even if its only every 10 years. You should have to complete an online course before renewing your license at the very minimum. Maybe retrain on right of ways or how to merge and pass on the highway
Good for Steve Guttenberg helping out. As for the 64-yr old, we really need elderly re-testing and certification on driving ability. Only a Mercedes was lost here, fortunately she didn’t plow into a farmers market, as has happened and will again.
It’s not a Skyline to people who have only played Gran Turismo and are unaware that the Skyline has always been available in mundane, boring forms and trims.
On what basis is that not a Skyline? By that logic, this is also not a Skyline.
Except it is. It directly succeeds the G37/G35 which was originally called the Skyline in Japan. Even under the Infiniti brand this car was called a Skyline.
The GT-R is what’s known for that. Standard Skylines have always been executive cars.
