Not just shift-up lights. They also physically locked out 2nd and 3rd gear if you were accelerating slowly, forcing a shift from 1st to 4th. They called it ‘skip-shift’, and it suuucked.

I was hoping for GT2RS money - out of reach but aspirational. Compete with the very top end of current sports cars. Alas no, it’s just slightly less hypercar money.
There have been a few reports of trackhawks frying their t-case clutches, yeah. The trackhawk also has a unique transfer case not used in other models (Quadra-Trac MP 3015C)
Only the charger. The challenger was never offered with V8/AWD
AWD V8 Challenger would make for a pretty awesome, practical (if gas-guzzling) daily driver. Here’s hoping they can make it work without exploding transfer cases.
The widebody really made it for me, it was a little too slab-slided without the flares. With them it looks great.
I was actually just at an ice racing event 2 weeks ago in BC with my WRX STI. Essentially an autocross on ice. It was a ton of fun.
I think it’s a definite improvement. Aesthetics are subjective, but this hits the mark for me. I’m sure it won’t be too long before there’s similar aftermarket options available.
Good A/T tires with the mountain/snowflake symbol are acceptable in snow. I’ve done multiple winter rallies up here in Canada on them and never been stuck. They aren’t as good as dedicated winters, especially on ice, but they are far, far better than all seasons and about on par with ‘all weather’ tires.
I owned a C4 ZR-1 for a while, did some auto-x and track days with it along with road trips. Can confirm, there were a lot of things I really liked about that car. The reverse cornering lights are great backing into a narrow parking spot at night. The front cornering lights are legitimately helpful sometimes too,…
I’m sorry, can we also talk about that other part in ‘assertive’ profile? “Will not exit passing lanes” so...in that mode your tesla will always be a left lane hog? That seems far worse than rolling through a stop sign
Carlos Sainz is a professional whiner in the Dakar whenever something happens that doesn’t give him an advantage. Last year he was moaning about how difficult the navigation was, because he knows that stages with difficult navigation give the advantage to the experienced rally raid competitors vs the pure speed flat…
I dunno, driving around in a circle dragging the inside rear tire isn’t gonna get much appreciation at a donut competition, you want to slide the rear out for that. This is sort of an understeer donut instead of the usual oversteer donut I guess.
The Bronco can be had from the factory with an e-locker and the trail turn assist, no issues there. You’re right that a mechanical LSD wouldn’t appreciate it though.
That’s actually pretty cool. I wonder how much power it would be able to generate from the fluorescent lights in a parking garage though
But does this mean we’ll get actual proper video coverage of the events? Even the dakar gets such sparse coverage, just a 5 minute video from each day, let alone the ‘lesser’ events.
I really hope they pull off some feat of magic and it comes in close to the GR Yaris curb weight. If it looks good, has all the GR Yaris running gear, and keeps the weight under 2900 my STI hatch could be getting traded in a year or two from now.
It’s...kinda dull.
So, the 760hp Ford crate motor is $5k more than the 807hp Mopar Hellcrate Redeye at $21,807? Interesting.
Wait, 3100 lbs? What happened? I thought they were in the 2500 range.
