GM LS engines. Honda K series. These are the two engines being swapped into everything, and there’s a reason. Reliable, easy power with lots of support.

LS in general, yes. LS7...no. As a Z06 owner, trust me they aren’t reliable unless you replace the entire rotating assembly.

Yeah, a program to give people of diverse backgrounds who are already successful in motorsport a leg up to the big leagues does nothing to address the fact that the vast majority of people cannot afford to be successful in motorsport, regardless of how talented they may be.

Isn’t this basically what ROC (race of champions) is designed to do? Knockout style shootout championship in identical cars on a stadium course. Bringing that into the olympics would be an awesome move in my opinion.

Maybe they would make a track only toy, but I don’t think Polaris has any interest in building something they would have to go through the full road car safety certification for. That’s why the Slingshot is a 3-wheeler, it’s legally a motorcycle.

Make a homologation version, you cowards!

I’m skeptical. It won’t look as good as the 2 door and it’ll probably be significantly heavier (the base Yaris is 2400lbs, GR is 2900, and a base corolla hatch is already over 3000), so it’ll perform worse if it has the same GR Yaris engine. I’d be happy to be proven wrong though.

GR Yaris for sure. AWD with front and rear torsens, manual trans, turbo engine in a lightweight little 2 door hatchback? Sign me up. I would trade my STI Hatch in on one asap if they sold it over here.

Whoops - kinjad to the wrong place, ignore me

Conveniently Jalopnik put them right next to each other! I agree they’re pretty similar now though the lack of the aero bits in front of the rear wheels makes the F1 look a little less goofy.

And here I thought they had already done a trip in boats

I really want to like Zero’s bikes. They look cool, have decent performance, and the price isn’t completely absurd, but the complete lack of highway range is a complete non-starter. The majority of my riding is a city commute so it would be fine, but if you hop on the highway at 80mph, the range is less than 40 miles.

I’ll take weird over butt-ugly any day. This is FAR better than the 4 series.

The T50.S is not street legal (the regular T50 will be), so it absolutely will compete with the AMR Pro. Can toss the McLaren Senna GTR in there as well.

Nah, LaFerrari is old hat. This’ll compare to the latest crop of hypercars: the T50S and Mercedes Project One. And maybe Toyota’s GR Super Sport.

So says the configurator for Canada anyways. Doesn’t look like there’s a GT-S option at the moment, just GS, GS-P, and GT

Except that just upgrading by one trim package (GS -> GS-P), you get the limited slip diff and upgraded suspension, plus then you’ll want the sport package for the better brakes, recaro seats, and lighter BBS rims. The Miata to have, as with most cars I think, is the *almost* base model, but not the complete base.

Honestly, probably not many if any. Unless you are judging on value for money, it’s hard to claim that a car isn’t *better* when upgraded with at least some of the options. Can you really say a 911 Carrera is better than a GT3 Touring at...anything? Nope, just cheaper.

I expect to see a ton of these at track days in about 2-3 years, same as I am seeing tons of the first gen ones right now. That power bump isn’t major but from what I’ve heard the torque curve is much improved, should feel a lot faster than the previous one

I put it what my car is designed for. There’s usually a handy owner’s manual that will tell you. On a modified car, talk with your tuner.
