Nope, CVT only for the outback and forester now. You can still get a manual on the crosstrek, but who knows how long that will last.

No, WE (the enthusiasts) aren’t. The general public who are going to buy tons of these and then take them on graded gravel roads do not care in the slightest and wouldn’t buy a manual version. Subaru knows where the money is.

Most of the clips of that sort of thing I’ve seen are from Trackmania games

I feel like the PR people have realized it’ll be far less confusing for the general public to just call everything racing in the top class “Hypercar”, and then let the car nerds discuss LMH vs LMDH.

Yep. Not due to covid, the pad changed ownership last year and the new ones won’t play ball with the car clubs, so we may never be able to get back there.

As a Vancouverite, I can see why this got good support even while other car enthusiast activities are being shut down left and right (our auto-x venue got taken away last year and none of the clubs have been able to find a new one). The proposed track has pretty minimal impact on traffic flow, and unlike when we used

2 door liftback. Looks great, and more versatile than you might think.

I actually currently own it. 1988 Fiero 4 cyl - 92hp. It’s in the garage getting ready for a k-swap.

LMDh cars will be racing in the same class as hypercar - they will be restricted to be running at the same pace. Now, hopefully the governing bodies realize that they need to speed that pace up, but if they don’t, LMDh will certainly be pegged back to be on equal ground with Hypercar.

DPI isn’t just bodywork though, they run manufacturer engines based on a road car unit as well....which is basically what LMDh (aka DPI 2.0) is, plus a spec hybrid system.

TBH I don’t think LMDh is a problem, it’s hypercar that’s the issue. They could easily speed up LMDh to the pace of the current DPIs.

There has to be a tunable restriction of some form. I’m not sure on hypercar, but on DPI cars N/A engines have air restrictors and turbo engines are just limited on maximum boost. I would assume hypercar is probably limited the same way.

I think it’s pretty clear that Hypercar and LMDh need to be sped up a bit instead of pegging LMP2 back even further. Surely it’s not too late to give them another 50hp or so?

It sure is unfortunate that it’ll never come to North America. A light(ish)weight EV sports car is exactly what a lot of enthusiasts need to see to start coming around on them.

About $90k in 13 years of cars ownership. Just initial purchase price. There’s also about $20k of motorcycles in that period

As the owner of an STI Hatchback this is very interesting to me as it could be my next car in a couple years. The big question is how much it will weigh and if it will come with a manual transmission. Hopefully they can keep it down around or under 3000 lbs.

Still wish we could get the 2 door here instead though

Ok, found some numbers for Formula E for comparison. The current Gen 2 cars last for a 45 minute race and they have:

Curious what kind of runtime these would be looking at. 87kWh gives you 12 minutes of running at 430kW. With regenerative braking maybe 20 minutes for the first stint where the battery is full?

Then there would be the interesting tactical game of how long you charge it for at each pit stop given it’ll charge slower the

That interior...I legitimately thought it must be a color inverted image when I saw it until I read the ‘white and chrome’ part. That’s just terrible.

It looks...very bored. Which I guess is appropriate for the epitome of the appliance car.

Good. It has a ton of potential and is really fun in its current state (so long as you aren’t playing on an old console). It needs some bug fixes to be sure and some story+content DLC, but there’s no reason it can’t be as good as Witcher 3 is now when they are done, it was far from perfect when it came out. Remember
