I really really hate the concept of a car that has features that are only disabled because you didn’t pay to have them switched on. I know that it’s getting increasingly common among every manufacturer because it’s cheaper to put all the components for a feature into every car than to spec them differently, it

Man, that sucks (and I’m glad I’m in Canada). IMSA is the same, you can’t watch it live in the states except through their TV deal, but at least they have the full broadcast up on youtube a week later or so. Hopefully Extreme E will do the same

Now, thanks for reminding me, I need to go watch that qualifying

Dropping the branded Fiestas make sense now that he’s not with Ford anymore, but I’m honestly really surprised that he’s selling his ‘favorite car of all time’. I’ve always really liked the RS200, I figured he would want to hang onto that one.

For maximum control, 9 and 3, with thumbs inside the wheel over the spokes. That’s the whole reason that there’s a spot for your thumbs on racing wheels:

Totally agreed, and it applies to anything in tech. I’ve worked in a union job before moving into tech (devops) and would never want to go back. Unions encourage mediocrity, if you are more skilled than the standard you can do very little to advance more quickly.

‘for cheap’ I think is going to be the big thing. It needs to be competitive with the mustangs and camaros as far as speed/dollar to grab people’s attention. So it needs to be somewhere around 30-35k.

From the trailer it looks like it’s the whole gang as options. Drizzt, Catti-Brie, Bruenor, and Wulfgar

See, for me I can’t even get Forza Horizon 3 to launch without crashing anymore, and when it did work the rubber banding AI is hilariously obvious and bad. I haven’t bothered to buy 4 because I heard it wasn’t any better on that front. Forza motorsport is comfortably the best for sim-lite racing though over Project

If you mean a road that is mostly designed to a 70mph standard but has some particular feature like a sharp turn that requires a slower speed over the entire section to avoid bottlenecking, then the answer is the road is poorly designed. It should be either redesigned to remove the need for the slowdown, or redesigned

I had basically written off NFS after Most Wanted 2012, but picked up Heat recently on sale, on the recommendation of these articles. I’ve been having an unexpected amount of fun, I think they nailed a lot of the arcade racer feel that had been missing from recent ones. It’s unfortunate that EA can’t seem to make up

If you took away the speed limit on a road, and measured how fast people travel, the speed limit should be set to about the 85th percentile. It’s not a new concept, the problem is a lot of the speed limits on our roads were set decades ago when cars had worse stopping distances, stability, etc. The limits in a lot of

Woof. Well, there goes that. I expect to see lots of them around the same districts I see G63s and Cayenne Turbos

Yeah, you’re probably right. You can get the 6 cylinder engine on a reasonably low (not bottom, but far from top) spec right now, so I’m holding out hope they will let you put the V8 on at least a midrange one.

Considering that the previous ‘best’ engine was a hybrid turbo 6, the V8 may actually be a reasonable chunk lighter as well. If they can offer the V8 with the lower priced packages, that would start to make the defender much more appealing

Unfortunate. It had a solid gameplay core, just needed polish and a lot more content. I enjoyed playing through the story with friends. This seems like continued mismanagment by EA, first making the game be released relatively unfinished and then cancelling the improvements.

The problem is what are they going to do instead? Because if the answer is remove the buttons and put those controls on the touchscreen, that’s a MAJOR step backwards.

I haven’t had the chance to sit in a C8 yet, but from looking at the pictures, I like the button ridge and the cockpit feel to the cabin. I’m sure on

Push button starters are great in combination with passive keyless entry. Walk up to car, get in, start car, drive, stop car, get out and walk away. Never remove anything from pockets to do so. It’s fantastic.

Push button starters are less useful on their own if you already had to have your key out to get into the car

Stop/start is by far the biggest annoyance normally. It’s not as bad on a manual transmission but still. I understand having it but I want to be able to shut it off and have it stay off, it always defaults back to on when you start the car.

Actually that goes for pretty much all automatic features. If you don’t give me

Realistically, if I were to have an electric car it only needs to make it about 200km (120 miles) to comfortably get between major cities in BC. But for me to trust that it can:
- it would need to be able to do that reliably in a Canadian winter (figure -30% range due to cold and running the cabin heat)
- It would still

My partner has freely admitted that me picking her up for our first date in my black C4 ZR-1 years ago was a contributing factor to her initial attraction to me as she had always thought corvettes were pretty.
