True, it’s much bigger than a clubman from the 80s was. It’s still a very small wagon compared to any other wagon you can buy new today.

No, it’s definitely a vented rotor in the rear. The C7 used an internal drum for its electronic parking brake, I don’t know for sure what the C8 has but I can’t see GM reinventing it for no reason.
Not a lot of performance cars that I know of, but mid engine it isn’t completely unheard of. The SW20 MR2 had larger rear rotors than front, I’m sure there are some others.
It’s a small wagon more than a hatchback. There is no hatch on the back, and it’s a wagon form factor (even according to Jalopnik’s own rules!)
Modern cruise control on modern cars is totally safe in adverse conditions. This applies to basically any vehicle with stability control.
I mean, yes, absolutely, there are a great many stupid things you can do behind the wheel of a vehicle. Using old-school cruise control in the rain is nowhere near the top of list by any stretch of the imagination, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Similar power, but well over twice the torque (151 vs 369 ft-lbs). This is a diesel after all. I’m sure it’s plenty happy lugging along on the highway at steady speed, even if the acceleration to get there leaves something to be desired.
Interesting. Is the baby bronco or the full (mid) sized one supposed to come out first? I’m hoping we’ll see some camo’d Bronco mules soon, but Ford might be keeping the design on that closer to its chest.
Ah, right, you are correct. Just wishful thinking on my part I suppose. Such a shame.
It’s definitely an FRC, but those came in non-Z06 form as well. I can’t tell from the video if it has the rear brake ducts that are the easiest giveaway, but I don’t see the fixed antenna on the back instead of the retractable one the regular cars would have had. I’m going with it being a regular C5 FRC. Still a…
It’s not as exciting as the Ford GT outright, no. It’s also a small fraction of the price so you wouldn’t expect it to be.
The astronauts all had Corvettes, right? Still on theme.
You’re right, it IS sad that really nobody is making a fully unrestricted car that shows the limit of what race cars can do right now. There are no unrestricted racing series anymore, and there’s not really much in the way of high budget, factory backed time attack cars. All of the race cars today are limited by…
And then it goes back from 60-0 in 33.7m, or about the same as a lotus exige. Ridiculous.
The wheels are 21-23" depending on options. The front rotors are 17.3", which is...delightfully absurd.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how bonkers ginormous those front rotors are? I believe they are or were the largest ever brakes on a production car at 17.3". I love me a big brake rotor, and these are truly absurd in the best way.
Never built or redesigned? Not sure where you got that from. They completely changed the aero package, developed a whole DRS system for it, and made a whole host of other changes.
And if you think they weren’t trying hard...not sure what to tell you. It didn’t go above 250 because it *couldn’t*, not because they didn’t…
