Backstory, no, but Phasma plays a large part in Finn’s story and has a bunch of dialogue. You also see her talking to others whilst Finn isn’t around, so you get a lot more of her personality and motivations.
So, no back story for Hux or Phasma?

It’s a different approach but it isn’t a bad approach.
