To me what was a total joke was that Chelski were playing for a draw from the outset. A result that disqualifies them from winning the league. Now, once the freak occurrence of Gerrard slipping took place, his tactic was sound and great. But from the outset it was ridiculous

Amateur sports are fucked up because a lot of the kids get an over-inflated view of their importance in the piece. The important part is the schools. If there were 120 D-League Football teams they'd struggle to get 10,000 people to the games. Throw the school on it and alllllll of the people who went there give a shit.

Why do all of these idiots hand-time the 40?

Looks even bigger

Boeheim is overrated and a tool, but he doesn't owe Ennis shit.

How about if there's a riot or sketchiness going down you don't get in the middle of it?

Yep. Kids these days are soft. There are even some who complain about getting college scholarships for playing a game (Kluwe, Chris)

I think that we should abolish the NCAA so we can get rid of these scholarship that help 99% of the guys that get them, if they want the help, but 1% of the guys get screwed.

The kids were so poor that they were able to pay Kluwe $10/hour?

They want to get used to living beyond their means as soon as possible! Hilarious to complain that he didn't have money for it when it was hit own choice.

(Fun fact - You know how the NFL is collectively shitting its pants over the concussion issue? I can't WAIT for the day that lawsuit hits the courts against the NCAA. Cannot. Wait.)

SEC schools are not close to UCLA academically. I am assuming Chris lived off-campus instead of living in a dorm?

they were there to play football, nothing more, and all they cared about was staying eligible

The parents probably make multiple mistakes, but I was referring to a particular mistake. Derp. Also, computer class is not typing class is not grammar class.

Notice I said least responsible - not not responsible.

I realize that it is far past the time for any meaningful help to be given. I don't even know what to do if presented with this case.

And 1!

There could certainly be some insane set of circumstances, but I haven't seen many like that. It's pretty obvious to even the poorest of peoples that elevating your status in life comes from knowledge. If they can't buck up and make it happen for the kid on some level so that he can write past Second Grade-level, I'm

No he doesn't, and that was my point. That's on his parents, and maybe their parents as well.

Which is why I'm not sure they're worth what they want to get paid. What do you think a HS kid is worth in the D-League...35k/yr? Maybe? No one really gives a shit about it, and it doesn't seem like much Dev is going on there.
