Ah, I definitely agree F1 cars are too wide, which limits passing opportunities on a lot of the narrower tracks. I’m not sure what that has to do with the pace car being slow, but I think most people agree with you on that one.

Personally I’m fine with cold tires on a restart, makes things spicier.  Also, F1 did just make their cars slower.  The issue is they made the pace car slower by a larger amount.

To be fair, Verstappen was talking about the car being slow, not the driver.  LeClerc just said the car was slow in a more diplomatic way.

So you want F1 cars to be slower so their tires don’t get cold behind the safety car?

Pretty sure that’s 140kph.

Yeah, this looks like a “dumb things kids do” moment, but on an international stage while on camera and from a country currently waging a “de-nazification” war on a neighbor. No team can keep him around after that.

Oh I know how it’s technically supposed to be used, but come on, who would buy a Ricciardo shoey decanter and not do a shoey?

My point was more that going to the race was impossible for the last 2 years because it didn’t happen. Nice that it’s back, though.

Are they still being picky about which vaccine counts as a vaccine, even though none of them actually seem to work any better than another? I have a forensic exam up there that I was looking forward to getting out of since apparently the J&J vaccine wasn’t good enough for Canadia.

I want that shoe for general drinking.  Maybe they will make a smaller version that can be used when you don’t want to drink the entire bottle in one glass.

Sure, are they actually going to let people in this year?

Ah, for watching that makes more sense. Even so, I don’t know how you could be at the track with Top Fuel dragsters and not feel some kind of excitement. Even 10.5” drags are ridiculous. Last time I was at the track I saw a TT Mustang end up on its roof due to the insane amount of power and traction it had.  Didn’t

The reason it’s easier on modern cars is because the computer tries to hold the idle at a set rpm even under load. In other words, the car will add throttle for you (up to a point) to prevent the idle from dropping as you apply the clutch.

Once again, spoken like someone who’s never actually done it themselves.

I’m surprised someone who loves their X4 would be interested in any kind of track, actually.

They were all taken to the hospital after the accident. Thankfully, it was right there.”

I agree it’s not great for actual racing, but restricting it from the public?  What kind of insanity is that?

Well, he does legitimately love his X4.  If that’s all he has to take down a drag strip I can see why he would think it’s boring.

Agreed, it’s horribly off-putting to watch, and I don’t know how the drivers don’t make a wrong turn every now and then.
