Please elaborate on your “cheaper way” to get ESPN? Unless you’re talking about F1TV, which I already said was the cheapest way.

As a regular visitor to Road Atlanta I would love to see F1 there. They’d need to change the last turn a little, but the bigger issue is despite Chateau Elan being nearby, Braselton, GA just isn’t that fancy of a location. There are probably enough hotels in the area for attendees, but I don’t think there are that…
True, if they live in a major city it’s no wonder they hate driving. Everyone hates driving in the city.
I sleep really well with race cars going by. I don’t know why, maybe because they block everything else out, but I have no problem taking a nap while trackside.
Yes, and? F1 shouldn’t race there, but given the money I expect they will do everything they can to keep the race.
They raced there last year and there were no DRS shenanigans (but plenty of Turn 1 shenanigans). This year due to the new aero rules, DRS is drastically more effective, which is why people are playing games. A simple solution to me would be to move the detection line to AFTER the last corner at the beginning of the…
It’s not the track, it’s the ridiculous amount of money Saudi Arabia pays for them to race there. Not to mention, F1's fuel supplier is Aramco (Saudi Arabian company), the same company whose oil depot was hit on Friday.
The nice thing is if you have an ESPN or F1TV subscription, you can just watch the race on demand whenever you want. I watch them Sunday after church. As a bonus, if the race does turn out to be boring I get a great Sunday afternoon nap. Last year I didn’t get many naps.
The only issues I’ve had is with the AI getting stuck on something so I can’t talk to them to complete a quest. Once a guy got stuck on geometry, another got stuck on a natural bridge, and the last time I dropped a stormbird on the quest lady. Each time I’ve had to fast-travel away and fast-travel back to fix it. …
Nope. It comes with ESPN+, which is an entirely different thing and pretty much useless. As me know I found out.
I’m not trying to convince you that current F1 is any better than old F1, but last year was great and this year is shaping up to be even better so far. The top two drivers went into the final race of the season tied last year, winner take all, and this year the racing is incredibly close with fights going on all…
The $27 tier only lets you view replays 2 days after the race is over. Pretty useless unless you work 48 hours straight Sunday and Monday.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s not needed (the sample size is still really small), but it definitely looks like the effect or duration could be toned down.
I think you’re looking at it backwards. It’s not that the other writers/management didn’t learn from Torch and Tracy, it’s that they left specifically because of the ethos and direction the site was taking. Of course, they won’t say that, but we all know they were the “fun” writers, and they probably got tired of…
Ah, yeah, I tried that. ESPN+ is NOT regular ESPN. It’s basically their filler content and stuff they don’t have room for on their regular channels. Lots of documentaries and talking heads, no sports between teams you’ve actually heard of. Doesn’t show F1, not even replays.
“Ultimately, the driver’s concerns were ignored and the racing got underway on Sunday evening.”
The only issue I had with Sling/ESPN (besides paying $35/mo to watch F1) was that sometimes qualifying would be on ESPNNews which I didn’t get. I don’t think I ever had an issue watching the races, but I typically watch them on replay on Sunday afternoon. They were usually pretty good about stitching it all together…
Go to their FAQ page. They have one for Roku, not sure about any others.
Yep. F1 TV is the cheapest (legal) way to watch in the US, otherwise you have to have access to ESPN. You could “borrow” someone’s login information for either, or pay Sling $35/month which is the cheapest legit way to get ESPN.
Yes, they could do that, but they’re not because that legislation would never pass due to all of the people currently living on houseboats and similar situations in Florida. They’re just being greedy and trying to bend the rules to make this guy pay up. My guess is they’ll drop it without it even going to court.
