What?  You can’t just say “hardware issues” without any evidence.  I haven’t heard of any widespread issues with PS5s, please elaborate.

Normally I’d agree with you, but when it comes to Sony first party studios I’ll cut them a break.  They have an amazing record of making games that are worthy of the hype trailers.  I will say that I suspect most of the newly announced games were CGI simply because they aren’t far enough along to show any real

Good point.  It’s not clickbait just like this car has nothing on the F1.

He specifically mentioned “lane discipline”, then you brought up Mexican driver’s “creativity”.  I’ve driven in Monterrey many a time, and actually enjoy it specifically because of the controlled-chaos nature of it.  That said, I’ve seen things in Mexico that would make most US drivers give up and hire a taxi, things

Can’t disagree with you there.  If I’m coming back late or leaving early for the airport I’m extra careful to keep it as quiet as possible.  People who go around flooring it late at night or early in the morning are just inconsiderate jerks.

Nah, my car’s actually pretty quiet under 2krpm, where I spend 95% of my driving time (torque FTW). It’s only loud on a cold start, and I keep the garage door closed when I fire it up so I don’t shock anyone awake. I asked the neighbor across the street if it was too loud and he said he’s never actually heard it.

Not only that, but he’s wrong. It is not “guaranteed” to outperform the F1 in any metric, and certainly not all of them. Top speed? Definitely not since nobody goes for top speed bragging rights anymore (apart from K-segg and randos). Acceleration? Maybe, but definitely not as you pass 200mph. Handling? Probably got

Just curious, if you don’t enjoy the sound of a car’s engine, what aspects do draw your interest?

Glorious. I wonder what kind of mental gymnastics need to occur to reconcile “unions are inherently good” and “FOP is a union” without one’s head exploding.

Pretty much this.  While everything is certainly not perfect here, it’s even worse in a lot of other places.

Do you live on a major road or something? I agree if you’re talking about people who rev their cars in a neighborhood or late at night, but I don’t begrudge anyone out on the road who just wants to hear their own car.

I was gonna say, the only place I hear about that kind of crap is here on Jalopnik.

I posted basically the same thing, just took me a lot longer.  Replace every small to medium-sized intersection with a roundabout.  The fuel and time savings would be immense, and the number of deaths from head-on and t-bone accidents would drop drastically.

Yep, this. Whenever I get that person who keeps passing me back and forth (when I’m going a constant speed), I just floor it past them, get 1/2-mile ahead, then I never see them again.

In Europe, for example, they use speed cameras to enforce speed limits on highways, not some bored officer with a radar gun on the side of the highway.”

It would have, yes.  But I also think it was highly likely to happen since he’s been hit in the last 2 races that have actually run.

I’d disagree.  Other than this past race, this year has been immensely entertaining.  Last year was decent mostly due to the chaos introduced by so many new tracks on the schedule, but the 2-3 years prior were abysmally boring.  This year is a breath of fresh air.

A whole 5 seconds, huh? I guess it’s better than nothing, but really it’s just a distraction from the real meat of the discussion. Every crash “on Autopilot” is a double-fault, because not only did Autopilot fail to identify the correct course of action, but it also failed to shut itself off and hand over control back

Sort of like what happened to him in the last race?  Granted it was a dive-bomb into someone else who got pushed into him, but still.  Pretty good chance of something similar happening.

If Norris had watched this race maybe he would have ended up with a “win” at Spa instead of Verstappen, as his accident looked nearly identical.
