Well Ford did it for the GT350, which is probably when GM had a light bulb moment (or at least when accounting finally signed off on the project).  Other than that, not much.

Where exactly do you live? The very top end of the market is very much recession-proof since we’ve built a system in which the rich always do just fine. This means that Rolls-Royce is also doing just fine! Strong results in Asia in particular have helped.
