Sounds precisely like my mom (the daughter of working class then, after my grandfather was hurt on the job, poor parents). She is very resourceful—knows how to fix things rather than replace them, saves money, makes things last, cooks and repurposes.

Barnacle Bill and I have some class issues between us. He tends to make a lot of small purchases over time that add up but he feels aren't that big of a deal. Whereas, I will save money for nicer things/experiences that don't need to be constantly replaced or for small things that don't matter. His family probably

Also, if I recall correctly, "robbery" implies threat of force and/or a weapon was used in the theft.

I get this. I think I knew better than to eat aspirin but with a concerned audience, I wanted to see what would happen.

Similar story here .My older brother was grounded once as a teenager when I was 3 or so. I thought my mom had buried him alive.

Now to me.

Not mine, but Barnacle Bill was 2 when his little sister was born. His mom had gone through a pretty rough labor, so when he went into see her she was pale and exhausted.

(sequence)- Marge:How come you didn't tell me Mr. Burns went broke?!

I need to know more about this spoken work album. That's what kills me about the fashion industry. I read that Kate Moss/Alexander McQueen biography and it's main tenet was that fashion in the early 90's strived for a real, gritty, street feel and found that in KM and AM as darlings for their time and beyond. But

I posted this above on another thread, but i ran into this with a work friend (a guy). I didn't know his bride to be at all, and nothing on the registry (like 5 types of bowls and like 5 types of spoons among big ticket housewares) seemed line him. He told me he had nothing to do with the registry so I bought him

I'm late to the party on this, but one of my good work friends got married and his registry was just his wife's...and had utencils on it for anything you could think of and kitchen/baking stuff for a master chef. It was ridic.

OMG. i just read this part,

The pope is a reasonable man. He should hire the Femen activists to run to gift shops! The last time I was in Vatican City, it took the nuns running the gift shop 25 minutes to ring up my plastic rosary and other trinkets. I bet he could get them to if half the shop is dedicated to the cult of Mary.

I worked as a Senate intern in 2004 for Domenici (NM-R) and most of the other interns were spoiled douches and the staffers were all right...but even so, there was nothing but Fox News on in our offices all day, every day. It was an interesting shift as Domenici had a lot of bipartisan support early in his career

Same thing happened to me on a move across Texas. While seemingly fine during the evening, sometime during the night, the cat chewed his way into the innards of a recliner. When i got the hotel survey via email I was sweating getting charged for that damage, but luckily I wasn't. Totally normal cat behavior.

Well. My dear friend moved from a Pacific island to central Texas with about six cats and 17 dogs. Had them all shipped. Military household...pretty middle income. She made it happen.

Nah. It was mostly funny. It took one to know one. They changed the anesthesiologist at the last minute and introduced both men. They looked exactly the same in build, scrubs, facial features. I was like...Ok...interchangeable white dudes. just don't let me wake up on that table!

Weird cosmic thing. Tonight I popped the zipper on my XXL Queen of Hearts costume right out of the Amazon box. Fuuuuuucccckkkk! Also: My boyfriend is going as Tobias Funke the never-nude for Halloween. Match made in BBW NN heaven.

My indeterminate ethnicity causes much interest and anxiety. A guy I dated once said my skin was so light and my hair was so...so dark..and that he didn't see that on many "white" girls but instead on black people like him. So I said, "You're black?!' which I thought was hilarious and as ridiculous of the nonsense he

So...some fun stuff happened this week. I work in an office that shares space—our ad firm on one side and a film company on the other. We share resources, sometimes with some tensions over time spent and who gets to make creative decisions. We haven't really bonded between the two sides, and i honestly think that's
