Definitely a victory for the league. Even if payouts top $1 billion, they get off easy here. What they really wanted to do was avoid the discovery process, which would have meant finding out what the league knew about the long term effects of head trauma and when they knew it. The league supposedly started

You should never go to Subway if there’s a Jersey Mike’s nearby.

It should be obvious to everyone who he’s talking about.

I don’t know how much baseball needs black people. Hockey and NASCAR don’t really bend over backwards to reel in black audiences and they seem to be doing fine.

The piece is about baseballs dwindling importance among African Americans. He points out how popular the game is among blacks in the DR.

if you enjoy British soccer, why would it be odd to have a favorite team?

Can it be both strange AND bandwagony? Jumping on a bandwagon would suggest that its a rather obvious choice, so then not strange at all. Crystal Palace would be a strange choice.

“I’m an NBA fan, but games without rooting interest are pretty damn boring, right?” Wrong. If you were truly an NBA fan then you could watch any two teams and be entertained. You like a team, or maybe a player, but you aren’t really a fan of the league.

You seem to be working from the premise that you can only cheer for a team if it represents your home town. Which is nonsense. There are Yankees fans all over the country, many of whom have never set foot in NY.

I’m sure there are. And I’m sure there are fans in Spain who’d rather watch the NBA. If you are a soccer fan, you want to see itvplayed well. I would LOVE for the MLS to become a top flight league. But I also want to see Chelsea play. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

This would be like asking Spanish basketball fans why they follow the NBA.

That’s sort of the point. Had Ray Rice done this a few seasons ago, when he was still one of the most productive backs in the league, he’d have no problem getting on a roster. As things stand now, what he brings to the table simply isn’t worth the potential trouble.

The fact that he got through this without using the phrase “credit to her race” is a small victory.

Either way though, the Spurs would have had a title. As much as I enjoyed last year’s run, if I could have seen them win a 5th title without that soul crushing loss, I’d take it.

I assume we'll see Sheamus return tonight, probably as a heel and probably feuding with Bryan. Beyond that, I'm not sure what to expect. Hopefully the crowd isn't too obnoxious.

The irony is that he'd probably have a better case of arguing for Paul as DPOY. Grantland had an article right around the Sloan Conference that said CP was the best perimeter defender in the league, based on the fact that the players defended by Paul shoot less often and at a lower percentage than normal.

The Mavs didn't win in the lockout season. The Heat did. The Mavs won the season before. And the Spurs and Heat are both teams that use analytics extensively. No one is arguing that talent isn't important, but everyone accepts that talent isn't all that matters. You have to know the best way to use that talent, which

The thing that kills me is the angle for a Bryan story going into WM was already there: "I never lost the championship." He lost it due to injury. And you know that they consider such things because we just saw the same story play out with Wade Barrett and the IC Title. Reigns can still be the future. The great thing

I am a 37 year -old net-yet-divorced male geek and I am all in on this. The only thing I'm slightly disappointed with is that they didn't cast Tina and Amy in the Murray/Aykroyd roles. I'll be in line to see this on day one.

I mean, I guess that's all well and good. But nobody's asking him to go out there and be Ocho Cinco. Go be as boring as you want. Just don't be a dick about it. If you feel like a reporter is giving you too much, then say that. But this routine where he mocks the process — as admittedly pointless as it is — is just
