You are making a case that we should suppress technology to preserve jobs. If we do that we stop advancing and we fall behind the technological curve. I am not a fan of autonomous vehicles, but suppressing tech is never a good idea.

@neutral: Yes, I think it’s a good thing for a federal standard for autonomous vehicles to be set nationally. I’m not sure if it’s something that I want this Congress to set, though.

I think Tesla also needs to incorporate a more in your face warning system, if someone decides to use Autopilot, have it scan further for possible objects and play a warning, “Danger Will Robinson, Danger!” of sorts.

I didnt read most of the article, but I did watch the video (my first time seeing it), and to me this is 100% preventable if eyes were looking forward anytime 5 seconds before impact.
