The cellphone thing comes from back when batteries were a separate component that clipped onto the back of the phone. It was possible to generate a spark between the contacts on the battery and the phone if the fitting was loose, say if you’re one of those people who compulsively unclip/clip things with clips on them…

2nd Gear - I keep seeing you mention the RAV4 EV as if it was a real thing.....it was done entirely for emissions compliance. Toyota never backed it, or even wanted it, so to use it as an example when discussing their EV strategy kind of misses the point.

Why use driveshafts at all, couldn’t you just have the motor directly connected to the diffs? I mean you’re only saving a bit of space, but it would further help free up the centre of the vehicle.

I’ve never understood why the police in the US use the field sobriety test stuff. Isn’t it far easier, fairer and more straight-forward to just rely on measurements?

It’s far from useless though, is a great album even if you prefer others. 

It’s for removing windscreens. You drill through the “rubber” stuff that holds/glues the screen in, then push one end of this in. Then you’ve got a wire “blade” you can pull around the edges of the screen to cut it free.

This is part of the smoke and mirrors around Tesla....they effectively sell each car at a loss, as the only way the company makes money is via the EV credits. This is fine of course, and a great business model in and of itself. It does however mean that the actual car selling part of the business isn’t doing as well…

I agree with you on SSC. Additionally, I struggle to consider Koenigsegg the record holders, simply because I don’t think they meet the criteria for “production car”.  To me, making 2 of something doesn’t make it a production car.  There should be a decent minimum amount....25, 50, something like that.
