It’s just the way the world works.

“Hmm, I wonder why they didn’t sell the game portion of it”
It’s an inside source. There won’t be any official statement until the doors start closing, even employees won’t know until probably weeks before it happens for a number of reasons.
They are going out of buisness. They were supposed to start shutting down stores nationwide but found capital to keep it running for maybe another year, probably in hopes of selling off its assets before the hammer falls.
“People STILL want to the experience of browsing a store (I do) but the corporate policies are so bad that it’s driving customers away.”
At the time they purchased my store employees had at least a hundred dollars of their own money invested in pre-books to keep their numbers up. When the game got close to release or their number were bad that week they would cancel their pre-book and move the money to another game so they could keep their job.
“Were the prequels really THAT forgettable?”
GameStop isn’t a company that’s interested in updating their registers or software. That would require spending money on something where they won’t see a direct return on investment and would require a lot of expense to retrofit all of the stores nationwide at a time when the business is failing.
“ how does a major retailer oversell an item where they have to start cancelling preorders?”
Wawa is a restaurant first and gas station second. The fuel side of the business is there to get people in the door. Once they are in the store the quality of the food and drinks speak for themselves.
I can respect a quality company. Strong competition keeps businesses healthy.
I wouldn’t say that to a Canadian, they swear by Tim Horton’s.
As a former 7-11 employee who waited for years for a Wawa to open so I could jump ship I can wholeheartedly second that statement.
“It’s about fucking time“ indeed.
While true you should still never have to build a farm to get a basic block to function efficiently. That would be like the Furnace only accepting 1 coal at a time unless you have a hopper attached. Sure it’s simple to make it work better but it’s not very user friendly.
It’s going to get changed for sure. This whole snapshot process has been slowly adding blocks and then the functionality later so this block should be no different. Campfires have had a significant overhaul and they were just added in the last snapshot and all of the other new functional blocks didn’t even do anything…
