Lol! I was born, raised, and still live in VA. But even tho I love sweet tea I rarely get it in restaurants. Most of them seem to use artificial sweeteners or cow dung or something horrible to "sweeten" with and it really ISN'T sweet - just dag-nasty! So I usually get unsweet tea since it's better than the crap sweet…
What a useful picture. Thank you.
If it were me, I'd call her insurance company and let them know that. People like that should not be allowed behind the wheel. It's my greatest fear when I ride my motorcycle that people will think I'm being an asshole just for riding along and do something stupid. Or worse, they're doing something stupid so I pass…
The song starts with the lyrics "When I was in the third grade I thought that I was gay" and goes on to tell his story and perception of "gayness". So I don't think Macklemore was attempting to make a "gay anthem" or speak for the LGBT community. The fact that the song became a hit and resonated with people speaks to…
Yeah, there's just one problem with your statement: the RS6 looks that much better.
My favorite bit was "I was always in control". EVERYONE is always in control until they aren't. It takes one little thing to go from in control to murder and death by car. And a lot of that you can't adequately predict before. This guy was lucky, pure and simple.
I'd prefer that the driver be honest about his feelings towards safety. Instead of "I'm always in control," I'd rather he just admit "I don't care about other people."
Hardibird,
Yes, and also the fact that increased speed alone and the speed differential between him and other cars makes the unpredictability of those other drivers even more of an issue. They don't expect a car to pass them on the right at a significantly higher speed, so when they change lanes just in front of him, causing him…
As an idiot on the internet I have to say that this is as pitchfork waving-worthy as anything else.
"Stop making stupid people famous."
as a new yorker, i say fuck this. let's make a game out of racing a lap in YOUR neighborhood and then see if it's cool to promote the shit out of it. there are users besides other cars on the road, too, who have the right to not get mowed down by sociopaths, regardless of time of day or type of use (waiting to cross…
People who self-identify as "good drivers" actually tend to be more accident prone because they feel like they can do dangerous things "safely." This guy basically just said, "I'm a good driver who will be in more accidents than those people I claim are shitty drivers."
COTD!
I think a harsher story title would go a long way on setting the tone for the rest of the story.
I don't see how you can ever make it safe. And when it leads to posts like this one on Oppo. One could argue that glamorization is the factor that hasn't been avoided enough.
Hit the nail on the head.
We have a winner.
