It really depends on the cruise. What you said is true of Carnival, but cruise lines like Cunard, Windstar, Seaborne, Oceania, etc are all very relaxing, uncrowded and luxurious. I cruised on Cunard in the Mediterranean and we ate like kings and never felt like we rushed or crowded.
