I think you can. The army trains you for years to shoot and kill people in combat, not to mention support your fellow troops. But in a firefight, soldiers are known to end up not firing their weapons, panic, shoot their own troops, freeze up, and generally make bad, panic-driven choices.

This is going to sound off-tangent, but I blame the rise of corporations. Conglomerates now rule the western world. Politicians are a priesthood who worship and make sacrifices to them. They go into ‘public office’ specifically to help transfer ever more control and power to multinationals.

As long as bankers don’t go to prison and the fines are less than the profits - then nothing changes.

This is just the American Way though right? The people elected a president who’s Dad gamed the education and military system through wealth and connections. His son-in-law got into college the same way. And people who vote for them are just fine with it.

I think he’s an unconscious, instinctive, habituated racist. I don’t think he sits at home plotting how to keep non-white races down. He just believes they make good help in his hotels, when they’re not dealing drugs or bashing white pensioners.
