Right, but the idea that there's a non-racist way to do blackface— which her profession of good intentions suggests— is coming from the same place as saying there's a non-homophobic way to say "faggot."

Intent matters to some extent, but when you emphasize it this heavily, the implication is that you and the people it's offensive to have an equal say in whether or not it's okay. She's not doubling down but she's coming from the same place as straight people who insist that "faggot" isn't a homophobic term anymore.
