I'm guessing they don't mean Lauren Bacall in "The Big Sleep."

Seriously, I don't understand how you can criticize a young woman for playing the cute card (and others for defending her), just like you did when you were young. Also, I am having a really hard time understanding your writing.

I have "cut that behavior off" yes.

I didn't say I was one of them. I will say I have cut that behavior off in myself pretty effectively. But I have known men and women both who simply don't think/say things like that, and are pretty baffled when others do.

Some people really see the world differently then you do. Honestly. We all have our failings, but assuming that yours is universal is ignoring people who are actually different form you. You aren't everybody.

You must have me confused with someone else, because before this post, you never responded at all to any of my points, politely or otherwise.

Because you posted a long, condescending, pedantic post about why this woman was wrong. If my industry, which certainly has faults of its own, operated in the fashion that you describe, it would be disastrous. There are few industries where that type of hierarchy leads to any kind of progress, if there are any such

Holy shit, if I had to put up with that kind of hierarchical bullshit, my "seniors" would have turned in work product to judges that was WRONG.

Using the word "obfuscate" kind of clouds your point, amirite?

This is why these rules are incredibly stupid, at times. I mean, we weren't allowed to have sex in the dorms, but we sure as hell allowed to kiss. Or if we were not, no one ever told us otherwise.
