I remember liking these in the day. The Chevy Spectrum had a turbo version too, and even in their basic trim they were halfway decent. As with the Piazza/Impulse, Guigiaro did the design work, and if you squint you can see subtle similarities.
This is a NP to me for rarity and novelty reasons alone. That manual one is definitely very rare and is a prime candidate for restoration. If I had the time and money for a project car, I’d be all over this.
We had an 08 that was an absolute blast to drive. We had zero issues with it. We heard many other people who had, and others who had not had problems. The mini factory seemed to be a bowl of lemons and oranges. We got an orange.
That it is. I can’t speak on the diesel engine, but I’ll regularly average 26mpg over a couple hundred miles of mixed driving.
The R-class is a wonderful rig, but truly a shame that particular one has the worst interior color. The grey is just... Awful.
Those rims are excellent.
Seems the primary reason you’d take the Hyundai over the Ford is availability and $$$, as mentioned in the write up.
1) 2017+ Honda Ridgeline AWD - $25k-$30k (Same price as a newer Maverick AWD or Santa Cruz)
The Santa Cruz is the answer here, thankfully they actually gave that as a choice. It looks good in an off-roady beachy way and not trucky.
Haul old people with stuff. I think this was one of 30 people who needed this thing...
I think Lawrence has the best answer here if we assume Bernie wants to haul stuff that is best left in an open bed. Getting a new Santa Cruz with Hyundai’s generous warranty is a good value at $31k. I’d personally go for the E-Tron and invest in a good cargo liner, but Bernie is only going to have 1 vehicle. I can…
Same with those automatic spark advances!
The punchline about getting an affluent white woman to own up to anything would have landed a lot better if it seemed like Paltrow was at fault.
Or maybe, just MAYBE, he actually is at fault here? There isn’t much to go on, and chat messages uncovered during discovery directly confirm that unlike their sworn testimony, Sanderson and the only eyewitness (who knows him) were ABSOLUTELY aware that Paltrow was the other party in the crash at the time it happened.
I don’t get some of these cars I see on Turo. If you got a truck you don’t use all the time, I can see why you’d list it on there to make some money. Or hell, you lose your job and are scrambling for income.
Oh, not necessarily, I was just going along with the Jalopnik writers suggestions. And when Tom McParland is the one saying “Miata!” you have to pay attention.
NMCC or GTFO!!!!
I would say that they seemed quite durable but that might be a function of their being cheap rather than expensive. The plastics were HARD and by god did they creek and make sounds and crackle. The leather on all the models I had also seemed to stand up to serious punishment.
