True, but the comparison isn’t quite right. Because that ~$27,300 or so would include interest on the 3-year loan, whereas list prices for cars nowadays don’t include interest. So if you assume 20% down, 36 months, and 4.5% interest, a car that cost $27,300 over the term of the loan would have a list price of

I think there is some mathematical confusion here. 56*36 is $2016. Using January 1957 to January 2023 (1957 as the midpoint of a 1956-1958 payment term) and the CPI inflation calculator, that would come out to roughly $21850 in payments or $ 27300 in total costs.

I’m surprised the AWD models aren’t more popular with the overlanding crowd…but then, maybe there just isn’t that many of them left.  This was Mazda’s “what’s rust?” timeframe.  Keep it away from road salt and enjoy - definitely a NP.

The interior is pretty great with its knobs and buttons. It’s very Japanese early 90's style. The 929 was a great platform, and even though it’s not the AWD version, I think it deserves a NP for being an affordable Multi-Purpose-Passenger Vehicle.

Close - but Victoria. There are certainly still areas you don’t want to ride on - major arterial highways and some of the narrow winding roads - but I used to live in Edmonton, and it’s like night and day here

I know you have to do what’s right for you but it bums me out each time I see this. It means that means there are fewer riders on the roads and drivers will just be less used to seeing us and they will be more entitled to the road that they, and they alone, own.

I owned four of these in various shapes and forms and so I feel I have standing to chime in here. I think this is a marginally high NP and if you could get this to $10,500 on an all cash deal it would be great, esp with new clutch, cargo matt, roof rack and stick.

ask any equestrian: the best thing to happen to the horse was the car, even if it meant less horses.

Ha! That’s my acty./

I mean, how many of the cars that you’ve driven came with a five-foot-long windshield?

That’s probably why it has an air suspension - so the driver can add a few more inches of ground clearance when necessary.

Nothing, it's a cool long roof so I don't blame you.
