What's the point of doing a fresh install if you literally install everything you had on it previously? At least don't backup the registry.
I'd say rent it. If you have the means to transport it, you wouldn't have to worry about maintaining the engine. You wouldn't be using that often anyway, would you?

I use RS/Atom feeds to read all of my news. The uniform experience of Google Reader is pleasant. Also, RSS+uTorrent is how I get all of my TV shows...
