Honestly, if Ford does it right, they have nothing to worry about from Tesla. They’ve got their own electric F-150 in the works, are invested heavily in Rivian which will be targeted at a slightly different part of the market - the people who don’t want to buy a Ford, basically - and in the truck space they have brand…
And as a corollary, since Tesla has spectacularly blown every production deadline it’s ever set.
Yeah, there was no way he was going to beat Merc and BMW at their own game and have the 6th best selling car in the USA. Dispite many states making it very difficult for Tesla.

This one reason why a Cybertruck will probably be my 4th fully electric car. My Model 3 long range saw its range drop like a rock when it was left unplugged over night in the artic dead of winter in Prescott Arizona. I think I lost over 50 miles of range.
