Or rusty Jeep owners...

I’m a car enthusiast, first. And an iconoclast. It’s not the brand, or the mission that I love so much about my car. It’s that Tesla set out to throw out the rulebook and build the best car that can possibly be built. And, IMHO, they nailed it.

We’re Flamingos.

No, cost for wages is counted just the same as any other cost. Only Tesla knows for sure how much they are making per car.

Indeed, and people will adapt. Watch for a flood of ebikes. Then, watch the increased hospital costs outpace the revenue seized from the few remaining un-tolled commuters.

I’m not agreeing with you, but even if you are right, so what?

I was looking into buying a very nice used one of these ~18 years ago. But, the idea of trying to maintain a Porsche/Mercedes frankencar scared me off. I went practical and bought a brand-new Dodge Intrepid with the 2.7l instead.

This. I baby the batteries on the Disco Volante. I only charge them to ~80%/90%, and try not to drain them too low. No liver and fava beans for you!

I like the face. It reminds me of the Thunderquack.

Kudos for the even-handed article. I do wish the Model Y had a higher rear-roof line for more headroom/storage in the back, but I do acknowledge the need to streamline for efficiency sake. I applaud Tesla for keeping as much as possible from my Model 3 to make the Model Y. This should help assuage people who have

It’s so they can put Y rated tires on them.  186 MPH rated.

Who is going to be liable for the cost to replace the speed limit sign that got knocked down?

There are 2 use cases where Autopilot been useful to me.

My Model 3 has been fantastic. Best car ever.  Makes other cars feel like they are from the 18th century.  Is it perfect? No. If the trunk has a lot of water on it a little water gets in the trunk when I open it. Once it’s paid off the plan is to replace my brides’ Infiniti with a Model Y.
