Right now I can get a brand new one for less than 300 bux, call it 100 bux for labor. Not bad. There are probably ~1/100 The number of moving parts in a Model 3 than a Mustang GT, and they are not heat-stressed nearly as much.

See and Raise.
That ‘giant top half’ is what makes outward visibility AMAZING. The dash/boot is super-low for a great view out front, like driving this:
Conjunction Function, what’s your Function? :)
I would think the Model 3 locking system would be cheaper, lighter, more reliable, and less physically complex. It’s also super-nice not having any keys in my pocket any more (my front door is electronic as well) Sort of like comparing this:
Heck, my little 3 bedroom townhome is 600K.
I’m getting really spoiled with the door handles and ‘starting’ my Model 3. Just walk up to it, open the door handle, press the brake pedal, shift into Drive, and I’m on my way.
You don’t need a dedicated charging station (~500 bux, BTW). You just need a 240V dryer-type outlet. My Model 3 included a cord for that. 30V gives about 28 MPH, which is plenty for overnight charging.
Actually, I think Tesla sources their shifters from Mercedes.
I’m assuming you mean non-Tesla entities.
The Model 3 is super-easy, you don’t have to look at it, and it doesn’t take any console space.
No more advertising on TV or web sites.
Not a trade-in but I leased 2 Ford Focus Electrics while waiting for a ‘real’ electric car, and now a Model 3 is sitting in my driveway. It’s a truly amazing bit of kit. It goes to show what can happen when a manufacturer throws out the rule book and tries to make the absolutely best car possible.
See you at the party, Rickter.
Be careful what you say around these folks. They’re easily offended. The cost of transgression is being banished to the greys without warning or explanation.
Well, that’s understandable. I’m in the greys. Looks like I offended someone.
I’m sorry you had fit and fitment issues. Was yours an early production model? I got mine today and it looks OK. No rattles and the trim appears to line up correctly. Do you regret getting your car?
but the company itself is a total basket case.
And that has a lot to do in the differences where each company is heading.
