The expenditure in automation is a Sunk Cost and does not matter. We don’t know how bad it was with the robots. It’s possible that their costs per unit goes down on day one. I think it’s great that Musk realized that automation was not working.
I’ll bet you $100 Tesla sells at least 100,000 more premium sedans in the USA than Ford in the calendar year in 2020.
