Never really had a problem with this, PS3 is hard wired for gaming and netflix, MBP is on wireless and still download large files and stream to the PS3 (when rarely necessary). I've also watched a fair amount of Netflix and other movies over my wireless with little to no speed problems.

You're right, though it would better to compare to the price of an iPod touch since the NGP will presumably come without a monthly voice/data charge (unless you're paying for 3G).
