A gas explosion leveled a house in my state because a construction crew working on a septic system ripped the gas line up with their backhoe, causing it to break inside the house. They knew immediately what had happened and called the fire department.

American Bantam's prototype (called the 'Blitz Buggy' or 'Pilot') was pretty close to what the Army wanted, but they knew little American Bantam wouldn't have the resources to produce as many Jeeps as would be needed. So, The Army invited Ford and Willys to come check out the Bantam prototype and then make versions of

It was made flat because making it curved would mean more metal and it'd be harder to manufacture. Notice how there are few curved panels, and if they are, they're a really simple, (not sure of the proper term) 2D curve?

" it looks like I have a download speed of around 12 MbPS and an upload speed of 16 MbPS. Pretty sure that's where a lot of homes are at"

It's not "how the internet is measured", you changed units by capitalizing the abbreviation.

Let's be really, really clear here: this means plugging a device into the car that enables CAN bus data to be sent/received, not using a device to connect to any car with a CAN bus, wirelessly. You can get bluetooth CAN bus adapters from hundreds of different places online, for very cheap.

That Vine is shorter than the GIF...*facepalm*

First one: car hit the tree off-center (you can see it's quite to one side) which caused it to spin, and also the back end to come up. It then came down, and the tree probably also unbent a bit.

I assure you they're very bright; it's their fans that aren't very smart / don't care much about domestic violence, and they're doing as much as they need to. George Bush wasn't a complete fucking moron....he just knew that's what voters liked, he liked being underestimated, and he knew that every second people were

Why the hell did this appear in my Jalopnik news feed? So desperate. And annoying.

That's also one datapoint. Go poke around the forums, people pretty much get the mileage tesla claims if they try for it.

It's configurable, with a lighter setting.

The user interface might be looking a little stale compared to what we're seeing on our phones, but it simply works and works well, although pinching and zooming on the maps can be a bit choppy. The touchpoints are big and clear, the flow of the UI is as simple as an Apple product, and the stuff that matters works

Obviously this is a tricky one. The Model S has a single speed, fixed gear "transmission" with no need or reason to shift, so rating it is tough one. Collectively, we're going with how well it works handling all that power and delivering it when you need it, and it does that brilliantly. Acceleration is instantaneous

At least on the Prius, if the battery in the fob goes dead, you tap the key on the starter button.

6 months ago I was riding in the bike lane and someone cut me off to make a right turn, illegally (didn't signal or merge into the bike lane first.) Only because I screamed "HEY!" while slamming on the brakes, and her passenger side window was down, did I avoid getting hooked.

What a complete waste of money start to finish. And at the end of the day, we're paying for this superbowl commercial, which does little more than say "look at the trillions of dollars of you're money we're getting because we bribed congress."

Most dealer inventory is not on Autotrader or Cars.com. Using a search of those sites is pretty pointless in terms of metrics.

2 minutes in, Mom & Dad, I'm guessing? He looks like he's totally loving both the acceleration and Mom's reaction.

Great to see BMW forging new territory in terms of turbocharged, all-wheel-drive high performance luxury sedans!
