I read a synopsis of a study that looked at the correlation between having your relationship on Facebook and happiness of relationships, and they found no difference in happiness between couples that were public or private about it. The only time it seemed to affect relationship happiness was when the couple disagreed

Looks like we've got a winner!

I answered another comment with it, but I'll just copy paster here: When she's talking about there being different sizes of infinity (which is true), she uses as an example all of the numbers between 0 and 1 and then says there are more numbers between 0 and 2, but there are actually the same amount of numbers.

Sorry for the late response! Two sets are considered to be the same "size" (or cardinality) if there exists a function (called a bijection) that takes every nunber in the first set to a unique number in the second set and if every number in the second set has a corresponding number in the first that gets sent to it.

Yep. The mother of a very close friend was one of those 6 in 2011.

Ha, to be fair, I don't follow him that closely. Good to know he talks about it. I just think math is cool! :)

That's a fair point. I wasn't actually THAT mad about it, it was more just like I was reading it and stopped to go "argh, that's not how infinity works!"

Haha, I kind of do. But even if he was doing it on purpose, he didn't convey that well enough, you know? People who don't know that it's wrong aren't going to have any clue it's wrong from the text alone.

That's fair. It just bummed me out to learn the actual background, especially when the crazy ex-wife is such a cliche.

I am a math geek, so the biggest problem I had with this book was that she says something totally wrong about infinity. John Green has been like "oh, it was on purpose. It makes sense that this character with limited math background would make a mistake like that," but nowhere in the book is it even hinted at that

Well, from what I understand, her family was not happy with how she was portrayed, and said that her ex-husband had basically been running a smear campaign by calling her crazy for all these years. It's not just that she's portrayed as crazy, it's that she's not alive to tell her side of the story, and we're only

Yeah, I don't think I'd have a problem with the character if she weren't based on a real person, and it seems like the adaptation of her is a bit sketchy. The character as a work of fiction is interesting and I think Jennifer Lawrence is an amazing actress who can bring out the nuances in pretty much any character. I

Is anyone else really uncomfortable with the way Jennifer Lawrence's character was portrayed, given that the woman she's based on killed herself, after allegedly being harassed by her ex-husband and the FBI? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie and think JLaw is terrific in everything, but after finding out that

I know what production you're talking about! It happened right by where I live!

Don't worry, it's only every other day.

Chandler and Monica are BY FAR my favorite couple on Friends. Ross and Rachel bored me to tears, and I kind of hated Ross. But Monica and Chandler were just the sweetest together. And I think it helped that it wasn't built up, it just kind of happened. More true to life, in my experience.

NewsRadio was so good! How was it not a bigger thing??

Yay, another no period-er! I've been period free for about two and a half years, and it's my favorite thing EVER.

That's... actually kind of brilliant. I'm choosing to believe this from now on.
