Remove all of the votes from ca and NY. trump still won the other 48 states by around 3.8 million votes. the electoral college functioned as designed and prevented a few heavily populated states from dominating the election process.

My point is, if you remove those 2 states from the equation and trump still wins the electoral college and then win the popular vote by 3.6 million.

Hillary won those 2 states with 10m votes to Trumps 5.8m. So she has an advantage of 4.2m votes and she won the popular vote by 574,064. By removing that 4.2m from the national total. Trump won the rest of the country by 3,638,133 votes.

I’m just pointing out that Hillary won the popular vote by about 1/2 million votes. Remove the 4.5 million more votes that She got in New York and California, And Trump wins the other 48 states by 4 million votes.
