It’s because they think that your life doesn’t matter. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard something along the lines of “once you have a baby, you have to put yourself aside” or “You’re selfish if you take time away from your baby, how could you do that????” or “What I want doesn’t matter, the baby’s wants (not

I watched a state Senate debate in which the “non-partisan” candidate, when asked about abortion, said anything other than upholding Roe v Wade is political grandstanding on the backs of children. I’ve never clapped so hard in my life.

It’s about protecting the truly innocent and vulnerable.

As long as I’m carrying it, the only ‘life’ under consideration is MINE, goddammit. *My* life and health come first. *I* take priority.

I’ll believe they’re pro-life when they show as much concern for a child as they do for a fetus.

I’ll believe they’re “pro-life” when they focus even a tiny amount of energy on the fact that the US is dead last in maternal mortality in the “developed” world.

Yeah, there are women who are misogynists, blacks who hate other blacks, and gays who hate other gays. Shocking, I know.

But it might be the only thing that starts to make these assholes understand what these laws do to some women...

And we also need better paying jobs, parental leave, and access to child care because economics is a BIG part of why many women end pregnancies.

“ Or have devastated families saddled with 6-figure debt after watching a horribly deformed baby die for a few weeks.”

6 is generous. $1 million and up is average.

“I don’t understand what these fuckers want . . .”

Right you are! Intellectually, I feel that women should be able to terminate a pregnancy at any point, up to and including 39 weeks and 6.999 days, because what happens under THEIR skin in THEIR business. And I say that as a mother.

Why is always men? Even the president of the right to life in ohio is a fucking man. UGHHHHHHHH

Re: the cost of the kind of financial crisis that comes with having a child that has major medical problems and only lives a short time. A pregnant friend and her wife were totally ecstatic over having their baby, but she went into labor very early (I think it was barely 7 months) and gave birth to a tiny premature

But it goes beyond that. If I learned that I was pregnant, I would have an abortion. Healthy, viable pregnancy or not. My husband and I are not ready to be parents. Its more than just not having a healthy pregnancy - some women do not want to be mothers.

Aborting a baby because it is an inconvenience is abhorrent and selfish.

The removal of special cases from these bills is frightening as well. A friend had to abort at 7.5-8.0 months when it was discovered the fetus had severe issues and some of the brain was developing outside the skull. The baby would not have lived for more than a few minutes after birth.

I have a new OB and she told me on our first meeting that their practice does 18 week anatomy scans instead of 20 week scans because of the law in South Carolina that limits abortions past 20 weeks. She said it’s not medically the most ideal thing to do the scan two weeks early, but they hope that any major anomalies

I don’t understand what these fuckers want, besides having women suffer and die when the 23-week pregnancy they found out would kill them actually fucking kills them. Or have devastated families saddled with 6-figure debt after watching a horribly deformed baby die for a few weeks. How can they be such assholes about

It is insidious because these assholes ignore science and the heartfelt tales of numerous women who made the agonizing decision to end a wanted pregnancy because it wasn’t going to result in a healthy child!
