I was specifically referring to them and other companies getting into the prosumer audio equipment market despite not being an audio company. Not saying a company can never enter that particular ring; just that it makes me dubious whenever a non-audio company suddenly decides they’re going to start doing that now

Eh, to each their own obviously. AV quality has always been pretty high on my list personally, and I am always extremely dubious when a company with no history in the field suddenly starts making products targeting the “prosumer” market. Like Razer making “high-end” mics and cameras.

You’re a 4k tv person, aren’t you

Or you can just use a better, professional XLR mic and an audio interface, and than setup VoiceMeeter and get better results for the same/less money with unlimited customization.

Man I really hope the climbing system actually works this time instead of Aloy just sometimes deciding to, oh, ya know, maybe not grab that ledge? or land on the pole and instead just flail off into space? Or that maybe she’d really like to go back down instead of up two or three times before progressing.

Ask Sega how well that turned out for them with the Sega Saturn

Again, I repeat, “you”, a hypothetical non-descript generalized consumer, cannot have it both ways. Either you want a console that plays “the coolest looking new games” or you do not. You cannot simultaneously demand wildly huge improvements over a previous generation while also demanding to have it at an infeasible

Look, I still don’t see how $599 was some kind of “insane” asking price. You can’t demand companies keep pushing hardware limits, giving you bleeding edge tech with unlimited teraflops and then also demand they do it for “As Seen On TV” prices.

For me anyway, a major selling point of the PS5 is the PS4 backwards compatibility. I did not buy a PS4 Pro, but I do have a 4k TV now, so even if there are not a ton of PS5 Games day one, I still get the benefits of better hardware for my current library of PS4 games that had Pro-Features I’ve never gotten to use.

Well, the “top” part has ample ventilation. I have a suspicion it might have a squirrel cage fans in there because of the layout, but without seeing a tear-down, I’m not sure on that part. If they do however, that would move a lot of air much quieter then “traditional” fans. To me anyway, it looks like it should run

I mean, this 100% fits with my furniture, which is mostly white, black, and shades of blue.

Were it not for the fact the PS5 is backwards compatible with “most” PS4 games, and that I have a bunch of PS4 games on desk, I’d buy the diskless version here perhaps, but I don’t want to keep both consoles out at the same time sooooo.

I super forgot that thing existed until you just said that. I remember kind of wanting one for a moment there back in the day.

Yes, I got that you were talking about the PSX a few minutes after posting; so we were just talking about two different things is all. Oh well, internet *shrug*

I know most people who play games are not “tech people” in the sense of knowing how development actually works, and a lot of people bailed on that last PS5 tech overview because it was not what they expected or wanted (because it was the GDC talk, and clearly aimed at Devs, and not consumers). But It’s really

Let’s just all agree that color categories are nightmare hellholes of semantics.

That is the PSOne, with the One in the name, which is what I was referring to when I said the PSOne is white. Because it is.

I am fully aware that the PS/ PSX is a grey rectangle.

In what world is this not “white” - No, it’s not #fff digital lead white, but that is clearly a shade of white. Is yours is suffering from severe yellowing?

Is it though!?!?!?

Disagree. It takes elements from every past generation of PlayStation and rolls them into the most PlayStation PlayStation that has ever PlayStationed.

The PSOne was white and or Grey, lest you forget. It has a splash of the PS2 Electric Blue, it’s got PS3 Curves, and the high-gloss / matte finish of the PS4.
