That’s what they said about Rock Band 4 before it was announced, but it turned a profit for Harmonix, and continues to do so through weekly DLC. Rock Band isn’t the titan it once was, but it’s staying afloat.

So, all of those Harmonix employees would be better off unemployed and lose any benefits that come from being employed (like family care, insurance, health benefits) than be employed by a company that can provide them both a paycheck and benefits?

I have some difficult news for you...

Ya mean, fuck Epic for possibly giving a developer who hasn’t had a hit game in over a decade?

The vast majority of parents are unlikely to spend an extra $200 on extra memory their kid might not even need. That’s if they can even find a console. And ”casual gamers” who buy consoles to play something like NBA 2K/Madden/FIFA or COD couldn’t care less about this and will be comfortable with whatever available

The Animal Crossing DLC is $25 to own. If you get the “expansion pass” version and you stop paying the yearly fee it will no longer work.

Pornography isn’t determined by nudity, its definition is in its intent, not its ~content~. (Seriously, people seem to forget that the word “pornography” has a literal definition and it isn’t “nudity”)

Then it wouldn’t be porn. The literal definition of pornography is that it’s something that’s sexual in nature (it doesn’t need penetration, it doesn’t need to show genitals. It literally just has to be sexual in nature. Because it’s meant to arouse... and as much as I couldn’t care less about how Amouranth makes her

Yes, don’t be surprised if Nintendo doesn’t invest in its less-lucrative IPs.

It makes sense for Yakuza as it has something of an intended audience (Yakuza stuff in Japan tends to be aimed at men). But when you have a product that you expect to gain mainstream appeal in Japan? You have to factor in a female audience. Kojima had similar comments regarding Snake, Raiden and MGS2. MGS wasn’t

I mean, no it wouldn’t. Seeing as how it’s “fluent Japanese” spoken in English. Speaking English is already out of place, since, y’know: not the native tongue. Why would you have a thick Japanese-to-English accent when you’re speaking Japanese natively, and it’s just being presented in English?

People have already mentioned it, but, despite the common misconception that Uncharted is some jingoistic “white hero v. savage poc’s” tale.. the overwhelming majority of Uncharted’s enemies are white/white-passing mercenaries.

Epic confirmed UE5 will run on XSX, They’ve never said this demo would run on it, much less Xbox One X, nor have they mentioned this tech demo running on anything else besides PS5.

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but this is very much like Microsoft and Epic’s deal to support the 360 back in 2005. Where they collaborated on hardware, middleware and marketing to make UE3 the standard engine for the 360. MS used Epic’s input to double the RAM/use unified RAM for the system, and for the longest time

Are we really doing this? The xbox’s specs are higher pretty much across the board.

I’d still say it’s worse in general relative to back then. And by “worse” I mean the idea of minimalism in character has trended upwards due in large part to digital animation/coloring doing some of the “lift work” of shading/lighting in anime.

“These other stores exist in some capacity so it can’t be a monopoly!”

They thought about that, and they are.

They just happen to be the preferred platform, and if consumers prefer them, then does it really make sense to say their position is “anti-consumer”?

Why is “Steam is a monopoly” the end-all argument for some people? Can you explain how Steam is a monopoly? Which monopolistic practices Steam partakes in? Heck, can you give me the definition of a monopoly?
