I've never attempted to dine-and-dash, but I just don't understand the appeal of trying it in a literally empty restaurant...like I'm so confused. Clearly the guy had other things going on, but still.

From what I understand, they're supposed to be a chance to become familiar with the photographer before the wedding so that you don't have awkward wedding photos, and they're nice to use for save the dates or whatnot.

No it totally makes sense to have that reaction, especially at the time of first crushes when your whole world seems like it'll collapse unless that one person will just look at you, and you can't imagine liking more than him.

Also Canadian. My parents house we never lock the door until we go to bed. Heck my parents leave the front door wide open some nights until they lock it.
I'm in an apartment now, so I lock it, but that's also because it has a tendency to open itself if it's unlocked. Chain lock only goes on at bedtime though.
