Except that California is the 6th largest world economy, and their guidelines are closer to other countries standards than the general US standard. So building for the California standard generally makes good economic sense.

Even better is that those stupid swooshes add a bunch of additional expense to RV/camper insurance claims. The ones that are vinyl require ordering the replacement decal kits from the manufacturer. And the painted on ones require multiple rounds of precision masking, color matching and painting, all at $100+/hour RV…
We had one of these when I was a kid, possibly that same year (ours was yellow on yellow). It was the same 4cyl ,5-spd, and had no A/C. And it was a dog. An absolute underpowered lump of a car. With 2 adults and 2 kids and any luggage is struggled, with my mom rowing the hell out of the gears to keep forward momentum.
I think it was more that he hadn’t done it yet, and had a car with a tow hitch and hookup already
The ‘64 Chevy pickup I owned had a rough running problem where it ran ok when cold and once it heated up it ran poorly, and got steadily worse over a drive to the point of virtual undrivability. Swapped in new wires, and it drove like new, then went back to being just as bad after a trip or two. Swapped the cap &…
What you said is literally nonsense.
$58/tire, plus tax/disposal fee/mounting/balancing. Plus an alignment put it in the low $400s and I rounded that up to “almost $500" for simplicity.
Nope. 90s Ranger 15" wheels. They are the same size & backspace as the 80s police wheels. The later crown vic rims have way too much backspacing and would rub.
I spent almost $500 to put 4 new tires on my $500 wagon last fall. They replaced a set of used tires bought for $150 the year before. Those used tires where starting to crack despite theoretically having a few more years. Decided I wasn’t going to play this game every year and spent the money to be able to put it out…
You’re right. I failed to use the correct year hot wheels to replicate a car i had seen for about 20 seconds a decade prior. How useful and considerate of you to have pointed that out.
All 5.0 intakes were designed to be reversible. Look at a gasket for the upper manifold. Left vs right was a matter of application.
Given how annoyed she was that the gap between the wheelwells was 3' 11" and meant she was going to have to haul plywood sheets on the rack, I’m pretty sure this is actually going to get used as a truck.
I agree completely. I just spent a couple hours today replacing some window weatherstripping on my ‘87 Mercury wagon (dubbed “Project Colony Ship”), and converting 1 front door from single window to window & vent window (still need to do the other side).
