It’s worth noting that nobody was actually denied service in this case. Phoenix passed an anti-discrimination law and this business sued pre-emptively, so that they’d be allowed to discriminate later.

I’ve got no skin in this game (I only vape freshly ground herb and have no desire to try anything else), but I’m pulling up my chair to watch him a) try to defend this legally, and b) try to defend this to all his fans who spent more on their vape rigs than on their health insurance and still believe that he’s a small…

But here’s the thing: He made the Alabama reference long after the forecast had changed. At one point, Alabama might have been in danger, but they definitely weren’t when he tweeted about it. It’s almost like he saw a map on Thursday and then spent the entire weekend golfing and ignoring any new updates.

Because Uber and Lyft are destroying existing cab services by actively losing money on every ride. They don’t make enough to pay their drivers the pittance they get now, and they certainly don’t make enough to pay their drivers what people should expect to earn.

Actually, yeah. The whole idea where they sort of rent your car from you while you take care of all the maintenance and insurance and basically all the expenses is one idea.

Uber and Lyft are just trying to hold on and not go completely bankrupt before fully automated cars are available and they can just fire all these pesky humans. It’s their only real hope for ever turning a profit.

Years ago I was a big fan of Greenwald’s work. He did some great work covering civil liberties, in particular. What the hell happened to him?

Programs like this just mean that most gun owners, regardless of their mental health, are going to avoid doctors whenever possible.

Cops like this one and behavior like his are the reason that people are (often rightly) afraid to call the police when crimes occur or cooperate when they witness something. Protecting shit bags like this actively endangers public safety and put lives at risk. Fuck police unions.
