...I'm pretty sure she's actually doing Crossfit, which is a dangerous proposition no matter what you are/are not gestating inside of you. Just ask Uncle Rhabdo.

Two things: The woman in the photo was never a pro bodybuilder (she competed as a Class E amateur). And bodybuilders do not overhead squat; O-lifters and other serious athletes do.

I am going to assume she consulted with her doctor before continuing her weight lifting routine during her pregnancy.

In life, you can do and should do whatever you want, in public or private.

Women who have regular jobs that involve a lot of lifting are told to cut back in their third trimester. Being active is different than being reckless and this (along with horseback riding and skiing) puts you at a big risk for injury. A simple fall can cause maternal or fetal death.

Pregnant weight lifter aside, I've not met one person who was into bodybuilding/fitness pageants/etc that wasn't following some sort of extreme diet and fitness regimen combo that was basically an eating disorder that people celebrated because they were in such "great shape." And I've known more than a few.

For some women pregnancy can be a temporarily disability though (I'm talking about the ones whose doctors say no lifting above x lbs, etc) which muddies the already confusing waters. :/

My mom almosted died because she lifted something heavy during her pregnancy. Her baby was not so lucky. I know she still blames herself 30 something years after the fact. So when I see a pregnant woman lifting too much weight I get really concerned for her.

I really have no idea except I remember when I was pregnant with my first, my doctor told me to take it easy at my job, where I normally did a lot of heavy lifting. I don't know why, but he told me not to lift things heavier than 30 lbs. I am also not a professional weight lifter, so I will hold off on my judgement.

I can 100% guarantee you that not a single person I am friends wth would have recognized this as an endangered experience. And I have some incredibly intelligent friends.

I don't know if that's relevant given that I have two graduate degrees and I've never heard of a Slow Loris, but I agree that unless the handler told her (and why would s/he) she probably had no idea.

I actually respect the mom for laying the hammer down and selling the tickets. I don't respect her airing her daughter's dirty laundry in public like that.

No, I think those essentially say the same thing.

Those two are talking about the same thing. In the first one, he's basically saying if a girl gives it up too soon, then a guy will get bored with her because hey, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free, amirite?

I think both are suggesting you are fucked if you are a whore

Actually, isn't he saying the same thing in both of those?

I know, I think all religions are as bad as each other and should all be condemned, but the topic of conversation was Islam. I'm well aware that there are many different levels of moderation of all religions all over the world and that not all religious people hate women my point was specifically about Muslim LAW. If

There is no such thing as a Jewish law country.

Citation please?

That sounds fine except there are children involved. Young girls who can't go to school, are forced to cover up their bodies, are taught they are responsible for rape, will be forced into marriage... They didn't choose this religion it was forced onto them.
