Yeah, there was a great post this morning on Reddit (I know!) where they pointed out that there was an easy way to fix this episode and make it far more narratively cohesive: instead of killing Rhaegal last episode and just kinda letting that death sit there, have Cersei fake a surrender as a last-ditch gambit, ambush

I read a book to my six-year old every night at bedtime. Sometimes he’s not all that attentive, and I realize I’m really just reading out loud to no one, so I skip a few pages ‘cause he’ll never notice. This is basically how the last two seasons of GoT has played out:

I HATE that they took a character who grew from an underestimated small player—moving pieces behind the scenes—to a ruthless leader and ended with her crying about her unborn child. The writers have always relied on her relationship to her children to humanize her and to develop her character, which is such a naive

Perhaps it was always predestined that she would become the Mad Queen, but the character development in Seasons 5 and 6 has been so choppy and absurd that Sunday night’s episode felt like a rude fluke.”

I agree that Dany’s plot was built up over many seasons, and it’s in character with consideration of the long arc... but the writers failed to effectively show her transition from rationalizing her acts of violence with rhetoric of being a champion of the oppressed, to just burning a city for funsies that had just

I am in a weird world where a large of my friends are women/men/couples where women are equal partners or the breadwinner. The professional world is changing a lot - esp. at the entry end, because of the attitudes of Gen X and Millennials to hours logged in the office, remote work, email, etc. as well as the public

I neither have nor want children and even I see how US society simultaneously fetishizes families and despises parents. It’s colossally fucked up.

The Andrew piece, as described, appears especially virulent because - as you note - it helps a small subset of women who would prefer this “solve”, but hurts every other working woman. In an Andrews world, even the childless working woman, it would seem, would have her career trajectory stalled by the powers that be, “

I don’t see how these shape the choices of single, working mothers, other than a minor reference in Miller’s piece. What I do know is that I was the breadwinner in my marriage AND I took care of all the home and child needs, exclusively. Though he made much less, we needed his income (or I thought I did - turns out I

I think it’s sexism because even if he weren’t, he’d still have precedence due to the penis.

Dany has been squawking about the throne since day one, and she deserves it after the sucker punch of learning that she’s been fucking her nephew who is technically the one who “belongs” in the seat, thanks to the arcane laws of Westeros.

I think most if not all women make the choice before they’re even at the clinic. Some may need someone unbiased to talk to and come to the decision but the idea that the anti-choice have about women being these muddle minded confused idiots who can’t make up their mind is so obnoxious ><

I cannot stress this enough. If these two do not bone, I may cry. Just let him love you before you both die Brienne!!

No, I think Gendry and Sansa, she deserves a nice and very hot guy after all the shit she’s been through, and since Gendry a Baratheon and it would make their claim to the throne pretty strong if they got together. Arya will just continue to be a bad-ass killer.

This whole season is worse than “Lymediseasegate” and that was a dumpster fire all its own.

I read that Dorit and PK have money problems, that PK has big gambling debts.

Because some of them (Rinna, Erika) are using it as a way to “take down” the queen bee (Vanderpump), and others (ahem Dorit) are using it as a storyline to distract from other things (like her very questionable finances, which Dorit does not want to be a storyline). Others just need a storyline.

Oh geez. You have no idea. As the husband of a chronic RHOBH viewer, all I have to say is the never ending Puppygate™ drama is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen on TV. And I’ve watched anime.

This is what I’ve been saying. This argument is only about how many hooks your bras have. I am willing to bet quite a bit of money that nobody who has 4+ hooks on their bras is hooking behind their backs. Because they don’t have eyes and hands back there.

People calling it ‘grown up’ to hook in the back feel a lil bit like they’re big chest shaming. I’ve got big boobs. All bras have tons of hooks/rows. It must be great to be able to reach back and snap your bra on but some of us don’t have that luxury.
