I loved The Shape of Water. I thought it was magical.

The Shape of Water is truly amazing and you will love it.
I’m really torn between wanting Get Out and The Shape of Water to win Best Picture. They were both so amazing!
I found Shape Of Water a bit of a letdown after all the hype - it’s lovely and looks beautiful but the story is a bit simplistic and some of the supporting characters feel pretty pat to me.
Has Richard Jenkins ever won an Oscar? He kind of plays versions of the same guy, but he has been doing it forever and is so good.
Falling in love with a sea creature is where the romance is. The Academy agrees.
Mudbound was so fantastic. Female cinematographer! THE FIRST EVER NOMINATED.
Even though I wasn’t a big fan of Three Billboards, I kind of want Sam Rockwell to win if only so that his dad will post another NYT comment.
Phantom thread was BS. It was a boring pretentious movie about an abusive man and an unhealthy woman. I was so looking forward to it but almost fell asleep during the movie.
Except everyone hated True Detective season 2.
Dead people haunting the living in hallucinations or dreams is such a tired narrative device. Six Feet Under was the only show to do this where it didn’t remind me of American Werewolf in London.
Don’t know about you folks, but I feel safer with this menace off the streets.
Pro-tip to the fucknuts at ICE: Picking up a 40+ year old white doctor with two decades-old legal dings is not going to make you look any less racist and is definitely not making you look like you’re out there rounding up ‘bad hombres’.
For all those small-government conservative hypocrites, this is the face of a big-government police state.
Thank you. I know this is totally off topic, but I got into a huge argument with my husband once (like, a legit argument) because I told him I’d rather sleep with Steve Buscemi* than Marky Mark. He didn’t believe me.
It is fascinating to see all the male regulars around here posting that Pompeo is terribly gauche for hurting Dunaways feelings. So many knights in shining armor saving women from themselves! I mean don’t get me wrong, that comment probably stung Dunaway like a motherfucker, but it isn’t Pompeo who took the money out…
But like, she’s clearly more important to the show than Dempsey was, which was the point.
Meredith and Christina had the best relationship in that whole freaking show.
Wow love how quickly people read this frank discussion of how the economics of Hollywood disenfranchise women, and went; “Fuck her she said a mean thing about Faye Dunaway.”
Forgiveness is something you give yourself to move on, to find peace, to let go.
