That’s really interesting and definitely explains some of this. Both my PCP and my GYN are pushing me to get a mammogram (I’m 42). I’m at the point of relenting just so they’ll stop giving me referrals and looking at me in that disappointed doctor way.

Doctors never follow these recommendations. I always know more about them than my doctor. I am being hassled to have a mammogram even though I am in the optional age range with no family history of breast cancer. The guidelines changed and doctors didn’t bother paying attention.

My girl has a crooked mouth. The shelter that we adopted her from found her with injuries to her face, including a broken jaw and necrotic tissue in her mouth. They did surgery and fixed her up as best they could but her little mouf will never be quite right. I think it just adds to her outrageous cuteness.

I haven’t. I usually go with a basic American buttercream because it’s so easy. My bff uses a whipped topping mix from a carton that pipes well and tastes better, but I’ve never tried it.

Strusel cake sounds amazing! I’m not much of a cake person, but I make a killer toffee caramel bundt cake that is frosting free and to die for.

I usually do a crusting cream cheese buttercream. It’s a lot better than regular buttercream, but I still don’t love it. The problem here could be that while I enjoy making and decorating cakes, I prefer to eat pie. I always ask for pie for my own birthday. 

I was in high school and college in the 90s and goddammit I am not doing this again!
