A lot of people who want “modular” can actually use any of the Android phones that can already do a desktop UI when they plug into a bigger screen.

I use a Samsung, so it launches their “DeX” desktop when I connect my S21 Ultra to an assorted combination of bluetooth keyboards/ mice/ trackpads and 15 or 17" portable

I still love that they named the alt-universe counterparts “Walternate” and “Fauxlivia”.

I’ve made 2 shortcuts on my S21Ultra to launch split-windows with 2 apps : Waze and Spotify and the other Waze and Audible.

My phone is in portrait orientation in the wireless charger dock on my dashboard with the navigation being the top-most pane (so it keeps my eyeline closest to the road while driving) and the

I’ll just swap it into a battery-case on the few times I need it. No juggling 2 devices tethered by a cable in the case of a power bank and fast-re-charges quicker than this wireless method.

“it’s important to remember that your home wifi speeds will still be largely limited by the level of service you are getting from your ISP.”

just saying at sometime you’ll want to offload them for editing or creating memories to be stored safely offline”

Your knowledge is dated - phone cameras have advanced so much, they can very well be used as “a real camera”. The trips and vacations I took recently my S20 and then my S21 were used heavily as a second body when I was also shooting with a Sony full frame or Panasonic micro 4/3 camera.

I said “or whatever current wireless tech” - which means whatever is current at the time a product goes to market - it could vary well be 10G by the time it all catches up.

That’s not a support or marketing problem, though.

I have leftover credit I’ve been saving in the Samsung store for one of these new ones.
One thing I’m happy to see, is they’re continuing the design of NOT having a pushable crown sticking out at 3 o’clock like on most other smartwatches. On my Fossils, that digs into my wrist when i bend my hand up and sometimes

This will be the (r)evolution - where the roles will switch and the primary data connection can be the watch as a hotspot you can always wear and have with you, while your laptop, smartphone, tablets all just wifi-tether off it’s connection.

with the file size of some newer Android games weighing in at 5GB or more”

The recently announced TCL Nxtwear G HMD sounds more appropriate for your use-case, but looks like it will be twice the price of a Quest 2. The TCL has OLED w/ 1080P per eye and works as a standard display input from any device that can output video over USB-C. So much more “portable” than one of these where it has to

Except SDE hadn’t been intolerably bad on my previous OLED headsets - but I immediately noticed and was irritated with the lack of contrast when I got a Quest 2.

Your eyes do adjust accordingly with use, unfortunately I do eventually and too frequently notice the contrast deficiencies and it breaks the immersion.

Yes, it is a shitty arrangement, and as much complaining we can do about how much we hate Facebook - ultimately it’s not going to matter or affect the market. We can’t ignore that the recent boom in units sold and software releases happening for VR is actually attributed to the Quest 2 popularity.

Now you have this cyc

Hmm, higher resolution but switching away from OLED? I would be more on board if they kept the premium screens to justify the premium price - especially if they’re trying to sell “the best VR experience you can buy”.

I’ll have to find a way to try them out. My biggest complaint with Q2 is also going down from OLEDs

Maybe this time, they won’t gimp features and specs from the Fold phablet. Both previous generations Fold were missing the higher-end camera and RAM+storage options that you could get with S20 and S21 Ultras, while still costing more.

How could I forget Bionic Six! The best shows had the earwormy theme songs -

Ah, another one I missed, haha. I always called it “Jayce and the Wierd Weinees”!
