You are thinking of LARPing or exhibition/movie fighting where people are hitting swords together for show. In combat, you of course are going after the body, and any contact with your opponent’s weapon is only because they so happen to be guarding with it.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to buy a new TV, as many new shows are doing the HDR thing. It looks AMAZING on my OLED in Dolby Vision, but I guess that people watching on older sets aren’t seeing all the shadow detail.

I’ll just keep plugging my AR glasses into my S24 Ultra or gaming handheld - any of which work great for driving them as wearable displays. I don’t care for the attempts at AR - I just want to sit back in my seat and watch movies or play games on the glasses’ microOLED screens on a flight like I’ve been doing for 2

Godzilla -1 should have been available to stream in B+W cut.

You’re worried about screen size on a handheld? I want -no screen- as I mostly use my gaming handheld/laptops with wearable display glasses for the last couple years now. Work+gaming on a screen bigger than my 83" from 10 feet away that fits in my pocket is why I ignored the SD and any of the larger handhelds like

I have most of the Quests, PSVR2, Vives but still gonna get one of these adapters for OLED in Steam VR. The stupid thing is they could have avoided the unnecessary hate by leaving the locked features off the press release - since PCVR games right now don’t have many of those features anyway and most devs aren’t going

I posted my piece on the game in the other thread. I played Mad Max waaay more hours than Kojima’s Phantom Pain and Death Stranding, btw and got much more satisfaction out of that time - even though Kojima’s work is amazing.

I played that Mad Max game while in a dark place recovering from a layoff. Being alone, surviving in the wastelands with minimal resources and death all around you with the scattered remnants and memories of people’s pre-apoc lives to remind you constantly what was lost. It was somewhat therapeutic for me during that

Been. Waiting. For years... Every time I see a dual-wielding saber I get excited but disappointed when not much “Escrima-esque twirling” occurs.

“it’s so much so that a lot of what Bruce Lee does in Jeet Kune Do is influenced by Filipino martial arts”

Will this mess with GPS again? I remember once we had a really bad one and a bunch of my field users contacted me to get their suddenly “faulty” GPS devices replaced.

“the most advanced display we’ve ever produced,”

Aren’t they still sticking LG and Samsung displays into their devices?

I think that’s similar to a lot of us that grew up reading Tolkien and were less impressed by this recent series but were absorbed by the Fallout series.

For instance, you can circle an area to remove an object like Google Photos’ Magic Editor and Magic Eraser.”
Object Eraser has been a thing on Samsung phones for a few years BEFORE Google got Magic Eraser. I used it on my Hawaii trip photos in 2021 to remove power lines from a photo, so imagine my surprise when

My older setup was with the first gen Lenovo X1 Fold and it worked great for a few years until I ditched large physical displays altogether for my mobile work kit. Immersed Visor is going to make -pocketable- multiple virtual displays if it does drop this year.

the Weirdest Guy at Starbucks”

No that title goes to all those kooks sitting there with just a keyboard and mouse wearing their VR/AR glasses as the monitor.
I also admit that I am one of those wierdos.

No way does it have a bigger FOV than the Apple headset. Their whole subreddit is saying this thing has 52 degrees of FOV which is about half the usual size of a Quest, etc. It doesn’t even have an equivalent resolution to AVP - stuck at 1080p like the rest of their Xreal product line.

Also looks like my old OneXPlayer 2 - which I returned because I hate the size of the Steam Deck. Much happier with the GPD Win 4 that I ended up with.

I can view the subjects on my smartphone you say? Then by extension I can cast that to my giant TV or use my wearable display glasses as a remote viewfinder like I do with my other cameras.

It’s so fucking stupid and they ruined holiday get togethers around the world by doing this because it was the best way to share the VR experience with others in the room by casting the activities onto the TV so everyone else in the room could be included in what was going on in the headset.
